Equiflux Agriculture Investment

Our objectives are to achieve a positive long term social, environmental and climate impact whilst making attractive returns for investors. At Equiflux Capital Group, we understand food, beverage and agribusiness. We are not just investors. We are passionate and entrepreneurial business builders, combining deep sector experience with strong operational and commercial development capabilities. We are committed to providing hands-on support to our investors, and believe in building long-term, successful and innovative partnerships of equals.
Investing in Equiflux Capital Group offers investors access to a trading opportunity, underpinned by freehold and assets that offer stable and predictable returns. This is uncorrelated to other asset classes and has low volatility, but offers an opportunity to benefit from capital growth and Agricultural Property Relief. Investors can also access a sector which typically requires more significant capital outlay.

Equiflux Capital Group is focused on making the global agriculture and food sector more investible and improving agricultural productivity in a sustainable way by combining capital with best-in class industry operators. We closely collaborate with our investors to develop tailor made investment strategies and seamlessly execute the investment mandates. We start by fully understanding the investors’ investment philosophy, culture, risk-return thresholds and ESG targets. We provide full transparency in our advisory and investment process, and work in full alignment with the investors’ governance principles and investment norms.

Our industry relationships, sector experience and global approach give us the competitive edge and credibility to be a trusted partner by industry operators and stakeholders across the world. We understand the fundamental drivers, market trends, different cultures and practices of the agri-food value chain segments and geographies.

Equiflux Capital Group also provides fund management and investment advisory services to institutions seeking exposure to the global agriculture & food sector and to local, on-the-ground industry operators seeking capital partners. We strive to unlock value by sharing our global investor and industry networks. We realize that the food and agriculture sector is crucial to the economies of the countries where we invest, accounting for 45 per cent of employment, direct or indirect, in these regions. As a key source of economic opportunity, investing in food and agriculture helps maximise job creation, while supporting a critical driver of economic growth and development. Given this importance of the food and agriculture sector to our core geographies, we will continue to play a leading role in facilitating its development.

Our Agricultural investments include farms in the UK located in Bedfordshire and Norfolk, United States of America, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, France, Brazil, China, Thailand and African countries such as Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia. Our preferred assets have fertile land and some opportunity for redevelopment. The long-term annual returns from these farms are around 20% over 7 years, illustrating the steady returns of this asset class.

Equiflux Capital Group primarily focuses on raising debt and equity for commercial investment. It also provides technical assistance through its specialist teams. Our funds under management are $120m. We understand that the UK Agricultural policy is in a time of change, as is the anticipated farm land grant system. The acquisition strategy is therefore prioritising investments alongside proven specialist farm businesses and their investment requirements within new policy led opportunities – organic dairy being one such focus. We generate our exposure to agriculture and food through a range of methods

  • as a source of equity for new agriculture & food funds and agribusiness & food companies looking for a capital (industry) partner
  • by providing liquidity to Limited Partners in existing agriculture and foods funds through the secondary market
  • as an additional source of equity for agriculture & food managers through co-investment opportunities

Our Impact

  • Sustainable increase in incomes for smallholder farmers and through quality jobs
  • Climate benefits from reduced deforestation
  • Natural capital conservation
  • Substantially improve food security and nutrition
  • Major economic benefits for private investors, corporations and women in particular
